TOP 10 DESIGNS

Enjoy the best of both worlds with a reversible holster. It is safe to say that women today are very moody, we are not 24 hours cheery, 24 hours edgy and 24 hours working woman. That’s where the reversible holster comes in. You can change your holster design depending on what you feel on that particular moment. You could be a professional yuppies during your morning meeting by reversing your holster into the black side with the studded safety lock and enjoy a lunch date with girlfriends by being ultra-chic just by reversing your holster to full-on floral. And the best thing about this holster is that it’s water proof and can snug tightly in your purse without taking up space because of its comforter like texture.  So enjoy convenience and style in one. Enjoy the best of both worlds.

The design is inspired by the Manila envelope and the concept revolves around the idea of the holster being the parcel or the envelope of the best of both worlds: the black berry torch.

It is achieved by lapped leather parts forming an abstracted envelope. A black stud is added to tie the design together.

Technology has been running in and out through our society where it benefits every human being. It made life easier to connect with information, produce solutions quickly, re-connect with old time friends and family or even reach fast results. To some extent, it paved way and opened a lot of doors in every aspect whether it’s in business, education, politics, economics or health. I’ve always been very optimistic on what technology can contribute to our lives creating a positive impact. And, that impact transcends to the next person and another, so forth. I try to look back at history on how I perceive the world right now that keeps on transforming and changing, hopefully for the better. Every image has a different meaning. For me, I do want to inculcate to others how vital for us to go back and hold on the roots, to take advantage on what you have, reinforce it with something better, to not take things for granted. Infuse every idea with a great one, using skills or creativity or material that not others can think of using. To value the things of the past and embrace it with the new, to value people, to love our family, to keep us inspired, to help us understand that everything happens for a certain reason.

I’ve used two koi fishes on the front face of the Blackberry upholster as a sign of courage and strength. With all the innovation and advancement, Blackberry keeps on creating great creations that sets it apart from the other. As they say from the old Japanese legend is a symbol of aspiration and advancement. This also best represents how Filipinos aspire to be their best in spite of problems and issues in reaching their dreams, it is a very good trait where people can take pride and emulate from. We are also resilient on how we perceive things and try to excel. The patterns that overlaps within each other (Back side/face of the upholster unit) represents every human being how we connect to each other’s lives. How my family influences me to reach my dreams, how my friends would influence me to a better person. We aim for perfection, for innovation and I must say that through my design it would influence people in all walks of life that we remain hopeful and positive in times adversity because we can achieve excellence, or even make this world a better place.

My concept is inspired by my many travels as a young child. The design is derived and inspired by many cultures I have had the pleasure of learning about. With todays technological advances and media influences a lot of our youth has lost sight of their own culture and ancestry. I find that the world and its composition of different cultures is beautiful and should be displayed proudly but with a modern touch, therefore, reaching out to all ages. By adding vibrant colors to the design it not only becomes appealing to whom its culture is derived from but also to our youth, I believe it is important that we never lose sight of where we have come from because it is a large factor of where we will go in the future.

This is where technology meets the organic. It is where the combination of two seemingly clashing ideas and concepts work together. Despite the continuous advancement in technology, people still see the need to appreciate and embrace what is organic and natural. We have started to recognize the fact that there will always be a limit to what Mother Nature can give. Nature, I believe, is the backbone of technology. This design concept is just one of the many others where little by little, people think of putting technology and nature together.

Design is edgy yet classy as neutral colors were used to appeal to both men and women.

It’s about joining coordinates to produce a special inspired piece. It’s about the beauty in mixing black with white, stitching left with right, combining hand-drawn design with digital design, bringing together creative with logic, fusing both linear and experimental giving us the “Best of Both Worlds”– ultimately a design that mirrors the latest by Blackberry: the Torch with both touch and keypad.

This allows the mobile users to carry less things because the pouch houses the phone and the front cover doubles as a wallet and card holder allowing the user you carry money and mobile all in one compact holder

This design was inspired by the experience of discovering symmetry in the abstract – an experience one may find in a diamond.

As our eyes receive the seemingly random reflection and refraction of light from a diamond, our brain interprets it as a thing of beauty.  We become fascinated by the playful glimmer and brilliance, and also by the lines and angles from this precious stone.  Definitely the best of both worlds.

My whole design revolves around the concept “best of both worlds.” This means having a glamorous, chic, sophisticated holster and at the same time having function as well.

It’s your one of a kind all around holster since it has a phone body holder (to keep the phone intact even when it slides), card holder, money pocket, mirror, built in magnet to sleep the device for a longer battery life.

I also made use of rattan for the exterior to show that I am proud to be Pinoy and leather for the interior to protect the device from scratches and bumps.

Symbiosis basically means “living together” between two species in biology. The design tries to combine opposing elements together: the different colors into a homogeneous combination relating to the theme: best of both worlds. It involves lacing of suede materials supported with stiff backing to support its free form design.

I think Entry #1 (Reversible Holster) is the chica-est; girls are moody, cmon! We seem to like extremities. The design is part girly, part edgy which changes in a snap! Now tell me what what could be more practical than a reversible?
